Projection Methods and Applications for Ferromagnetic Materials

Activity: Talk or presentation › Presentation at conference/workshop/seminar

Description

Abstract.
In ferromagnets, the intrinsic magnetic order, referred to as magnetization, renders such materials well-suited for information storage and manipulation. From a modeling perspective, the dynamics of magnetization is governed by the Landau–Lifshitz equation subject to a pointwise magnitude constraint. From a numerical standpoint, projection-type methods are generally employed to enforce this constraint. In this talk, I will present a high-order semi-implicit scheme with improved temporal and spatial accuracy, which possesses unconditional unique solvability. Moreover, optimal-order convergence analysis of the proposed scheme will be established and discussed.
