Description

On December 8th, XJTLU was delighted to host a visiting delegation of over 20 high school students and faculty members from Petra Christian University, Indonesia.
The guests participated in a captivating Chinese cultural workshop titled "Oracle Bone Inscriptions and the Chinese Zodiac," expertly led by Chinese lecturers Yinhui Bao and Genying Yan from MLC. Through engaging multimedia presentations, participants explored the unique natural origins and profound history of Oracle Bone Script—the earliest known form of Chinese writing. The highlight was a hands-on session in which students created pottery pieces inscribed with their own zodiac signs in ancient characters, deepening their understanding of the cultural richness of Chinese characters and their interest in learning Chinese.
The workshop was highly praised by all attendees, showcasing XJTLU's commitment to high-quality Chinese language teaching and dynamic cultural exchange initiatives.
