NUS-XJTLU Joint Workshop: RE-Envisioning the China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park

On 26 - 27 February, the collaborative design workshop between Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) and the National University of Singapore (NUS) explored innovative urban regeneration strategies for the Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP). This workshop was part of a broader research effort on the Urban-Industrial Complex and aims to integrate interdisciplinary approaches, AI-driven urban design thinking, and global case studies to envision the future of sustainable urban-industrial transformations. A total of 42 students from different programmes including urban planning, architecture, landscape architecture, business, and computer participated in the workshop.

The workshop was organised by XJTLU Design School and NUS Cities from the National University of Singapore School of Design and Engineering, co-organised by Singapore City Planning Consultants Pte Ltd (SCP), and supported by Suzhou Industrial Park Planning and Construction Committee, Research Centre for Sino-Singapore Planning Innovation, and Jiangsu Provincial Planning and Design Group.

2月26至27日，西交利物浦大学与新加坡国立大学共同举办的联合工作营成功举办。该工作营吸引了42名来自城乡规划、建筑、风景园林、商科、计算机等专业的学生参加，探索了苏州工业园区（SIP）下一阶段的创新更新策略，旨在整合跨学科方法、人工智能驱动的设计思维以及全球优秀案例研究，展望未来城市-工业的可持续转型。

该活动由西浦设计学院、新加坡国立大学设计与工程学院NUS Cities共同主办，得到了苏州工业园区规建委、中新规划创新研究中心的大力支持，由新加坡邦城规划顾问有限公司（SCP）协办，并获得了江苏省规划设计集团苏州创研院等单位的积极参与。
