Description

This workshop invites architects, heritage specialists, students, artists, and others to explore the future of post-industrial urban spaces. It introduces Shenzhen’s unique practice of cultural event-driven industrial heritage regeneration and the role of creative communities. Participants will develop short to long-term plans for post-industrial spaces based on Shenzhen’s urban practice. The workshop encourages audience input on “cultural regeneration of industrial heritage and lifestyle changes” through brainstorm and open discussion. It aims to inspire understanding of the research topic, socio-economic contexts, and existing frameworks of industrial heritage regeneration. The workshop welcomes related industry audiences and promotes interdisciplinary discussion on the conservation and adaptive reuse of industrial heritage.
