Artificial intelligence and digital twins are transforming the way we design, shifting from 'smart' to 'intelligent'. Drawing on my research in speculative design, design thinking, and immersive technologies, the lecture demonstrates how AI is a partner in questioning assumptions, envisioning alternative urban futures, and engaging communities in shaping regeneration. Urban renewal, cultural heritage, and participatory design enable a novel approach that fosters resilience, sustainability, and cultural identity. The talk explores how human settlements can regenerate into cities that are not only technologically advanced but also liveable, resilient, and beautiful.
