This keynote, Immersive Design Legacies: Andragogical Values, examines how immersive design can contribute to future-oriented education by connecting technological innovation with human-centred learning, cultural continuity, and value creation. In an era shaped by artificial intelligence, extended reality, digital twins, and increasingly hybrid modes of engagement, design education must move beyond the transmission of skills and knowledge. It must enable learners to act as reflective, critical, and creative agents who can interpret complexity, construct meaning, and contribute responsibly to society.

The keynote frames immersive design not only as a technological practice, but as an andragogical condition: a mode of learning in which experience, autonomy, participation, and situated inquiry become central. Through immersive environments, learners can engage with spatial, cultural, historical, and social contexts in ways that are embodied, interactive, and transformative. Such environments allow design education to bridge past and future, linking legacies of place, memory, and culture with emerging forms of innovation.
