In an era defined by rapid technological transformation, the convergence of artificial intelligence and design presents both extraordinary opportunities and profound responsibilities. This symposium, “The Humanizing of AI: Re-imagining Design Futures,” brings together leading thinkers, practitioners, and educators to explore how emerging digital intelligence can enrich, rather than replace, the human imagination at the heart of design.
Architecture and design have always evolved through dialogue between creativity and technology—from the drawing board to parametric modelling, from digital fabrication to data-driven urbanism. Yet, the acceleration of AI compels us to question what it means to create, to interpret, and to empathise in an increasingly automated world. How can we ensure that design processes enhanced by AI remain grounded in human values, such as cultural sensitivity, social responsibility, and emotional resonance?
Through a series of presentations and discussions, speakers will share their experience of AI’s transformative role. Alumni of the university will also contribute their reflections and professional journeys. Their stories provide valuable insight into how education and innovation converge to prepare graduates for an adaptive, ethically aware, and collaborative future.
