Human-robot interaction via AR/VR

Activity: SupervisionCompleted SURF Project

Description

Advancements in Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) technologies offer new opportunities to enhance human-robot interaction (HRI) by improving perception, collaboration, and communication between humans and robots. This project aims to explore how AR and VR can facilitate more intuitive and immersive interactions with robotic systems, particularly in environments where physical presence is constrained or impractical. The study will develop and evaluate an AR/VR-based HRI system that enables users to visualize, control, and interact with robots in real-time. By assessing usability, cognitive load, and task performance, this research seeks to provide insights into the effectiveness of AR/VR in improving HRI. The outcomes may further contribute to the development of more user-friendly robotic interfaces, benefiting applications in remote operations, industrial automation, and assistive robotics.
