Description
Home 2.0: Using AI to Rethink How We LiveThis topic invites students to explore how AI can support creative thinking in interior design, particularly by enhancing the visualization of interior concepts they envison for their own spaces. By combining human insight with AI-assisted tools, students will learn how to generate alternative spatial concepts and reimagine interior environments that improve well-being, sustainability, and emotional connection, in a fast and engaging mode. This topic introduces AI in the early stages of spatial ideation, material moodboarding, and lifestyle-based visualization—helping students translate abstract values into practical and aesthetic interior solutions.
Potential Real-World Problems (examples for students)
Students will choose a familiar interior space—such as a bedroom, living room, or shared lounge or a space of their memories—and use AI tools to explore how its design could better support their specific need based on their own experience. For example, how might a bedroom support better sleep routines? Or a living space foster more meaningful social interaction? Students will create AI-generated visual moodboards or conceptual views, learning how to steer and curate outputs that align with their own design thinking.
