From Industrial Heritage to Intelligent Futures: Cultural Reconstruction in the AI Era

To deepen the study and implementation of Xi Jinping's cultural thought, promote the integration of new industrial culture with national strategies, and implement the "Action Plan for Promoting Industrial Culture Development (2021-2025)" issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other relevant departments, the Industrial Culture Development Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), under the guidance of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (IIT), in collaboration with the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatisation and the Shanghai Xuhui District People's Government, jointly hosted the 2025 Industrial Culture Development Conference (ICDC) on November 4 at the MGM Shanghai West Bund.

The conference focused on how industrial culture empowers new industrial models, highlights the significant values and latest trends of industrial culture for countries, industries, regions, and enterprises, and comprehensively explores new values, achievements, pathways, and trends in industrial culture.

The rapid development of artificial intelligence is reshaping industrial culture, driving both technological transformation and cultural reconstruction. This keynote examines how AI enables industrial heritage and design to evolve into intelligent futures, bridging tradition with innovation. Through applications such as immersive heritage environments, AI-assisted industrial design, and digital platforms that integrate culture with new quality production, the lecture highlights how industrial culture becomes a source of creativity, resilience, and economic vitality.
The talk shows how cultural restructuring in the AI era can safeguard industrial legacies while fostering new forms of cultural capital and industrial competitiveness. It outlines strategies for building innovation ecosystems where AI and industrial culture work hand in hand to accelerate global industrial transformation.
