This lecture opens the guest lecture series of DES301 Professional Practice ay2025/2026, designed to connect students of architecture, industrial design, and urban planning with the realities of the professional environment through direct engagement with invited experts.
As first guest, ARIS XIE, Partner and China Head at D'Andrea & Partners Legal Counsel, specialising in compliance, cross-border legal services, dispute resolution, and intellectual property.
In this session, he will introduce students to the legal and regulatory foundations of design practice, exploring responsibility, liability, and the implications of Al for emerging professionals in architecture, industrial design, and urban planning.
