TED× × XJTLU 2023 Speaker
This final lecture of the DES301 Professional Practice series focuses on how to communicate and present your own design projects with passion and professionalism.
Our guest is Ms. Baihui, founder and ceo of BES BRANDING Creative Design. After working at Nomura Securities and leading overseas expansion for tech giants including Sony, Sharp, and Panasonic, she left investment banking in 2013 to pursue self-realization in design. Her signature projects include the Suzhou Silk Museum, Wu Cultural Museum, and the renovation of Huangdai Old Street.
Ms. Baihui describes design as "creating scenery": a poetic act of granting soul to spaces. "Life is like a journey," she says. "The great know how to appreciate scenery; the even greater know how to create it."
Thanks to her professionalism and creativity this lecture will close the journey into the professional practice context that DES301 module offered to the studentsfor this academic year.
