Activity: Participating in or organising an event › Organising an event e.g. a conference, workshop, …

Description

B+H Consulting International Inc. SHANGHAI VISIT: This activity is a crucial component of the Professional Practice module, which is delivered by the Design School for the first time in the 2025-2026 academic year. It involves Year 4 undergraduate students of Architecture and Industrial Design programme, as well as Year 3 undergraduate students of Urban Planning and Design. As part of their coursework (CW1), students will submit a booklet presentation focusing on real-world business models, forms of practice and legal entities, practice organisation structures, and the professional development of designers in the real working environment. Attending this field trip adds significant value to the educational experience, as it offers direct exposure to the organisation of a professional practice and insights into the development of one of the company’s projects. The activity is embedded in the first module assignment (35% of the mark component – groupwork) as a reflection on real-world professional practice; the firm will tailor its presentation to align with the main topics of Assignment 1.
