After a brief introduction to the city of Luebeck and a quick tour across the campus of the TH Luebeck, the talk will focus on design and build projects created with students of the Master and Bachelor in Architecture. It will discuss how form and material is programmed by various criteria to form effective structures and constructions. It will introduce two structures, the 3d concrete printed hexagon pavilion as well as the bio-polymer pavilion. The projects showcase the design, the development, the practical implications and the actual construction of the structures. The presentation closes with an overview of the integration of computational methods into the undergraduate teaching in architecture. The teaching aims to combine creative figuration with analytical observation on an abstract level together with the actual acquisition of the mechanical skills of the software.
