Description
In this lecture, Rudi Stouffs will discuss their work on creating a comprehensive 3D city model of Singapore to analyze operational and embodied carbon emissions. They have developed an app to gauge building operation emissions and assess the potential for reducing them through public residential building renovations. Additionally, they are working on a building material stock model to evaluate material intensity and circular economy potential. Their approach involves converting floor plan images into 2D CAD drawings, then into BIM converting models, and finally integrating them into a City GML urban model. This process includes semantic segmentation of images, semi-automatic BIM model generation, and a database of material compositions for Singapore. The goal is to enable both building and urban-scale carbon emission analysis. He will expand on both the context and the methodology of his research.
