Description

Following the principles to achieve SDGs in architectural design, the exploration of sustainable materials will play an important role. The materials with loop pattern of using and lower embodied energy gradually take advantage towards sustainable future. Bamboo is popular in daily lives in China with a long history and relatively new as modern building material. In recent decade several prototypes with bamboo have been accomplished. The bamboo in these projects is Moso Bamboo, one of the most common native species and is pretreated, which enhances the performance of raw bamboo. In sustainable architectural design we insist for 3 decades, bamboo is not only environment-friendly, but also socially responsible which the users could easily participate in the process of building.
