Description

Exhibition Preview: “Liu Hai’s Dream” – Speculative Design Reimagines Value and Wealth
This exhibition presents provocative design concepts from the speculative design project “Liu Hai’s Dream,” where traditional artifacts, such as snuff bottles, are re-envisioned for future societies. Through a critical and creative lens, the project explores evolving definitions of wealth beyond mere materialism.
Visitors will encounter three design directions: “The Neo-Talisman,” which fuses historical objects with biotechnology to create augmented, functional wearables; “The Status Dialectic,” a critical exploration of luxury and social signaling in a resource-scarce world; and “The Vessel of Self,” which repurposes objects as tools for mindfulness, wellbeing, and personal data sovereignty.
Employing speculative and futures thinking, the designs serve as tangible provocations—challenging perceptions of value, status, and capital in the 21st century. The exhibition demonstrates how design can actively participate in reshaping our collective future, positioning the designer as a facilitator of holistic and sustainable value.
Join us to experience these visionary concepts and engage in the conversation about what true wealth means tomorrow.
