Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive Training Workshop

As a faculty member at the Academy of Film and Creative Technology (AFCT), I was invited to participate in an exclusive 3-hour hands-on training workshop on the newly acquired Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive camera system, delivered by technical experts from the manufacturer. The workshop provided comprehensive instruction on the camera's stereoscopic 3D capture capabilities, featuring dual 8K sensors and 16 stops of dynamic range for Apple Immersive Video production, as well as pre-production planning strategies and post-production workflows using DaVinci Resolve Studio. Through live case studies and project sharing, I gained insights into emerging immersive filmmaking practices that are shaping the future of spatial media. This professional development opportunity enhances my capacity to integrate cutting-edge immersive technologies into both my research and teaching, ensuring that AFCT students benefit from industry-leading equipment and workflows aligned with the latest developments in the field.
