Description
As part of ARC306 Professional Practice, students will participate in architectural fieldtrips to leading firms in Shanghai and Suzhou, including GMP, Virtuarch, Gensler, Heatherwick Studio, and Arts Group. Organized by group, these visits immerse students in real professional environments, providing first-hand exposure to the operations, structures, and workflows of international and local practices.The fieldtrips are designed to bridge classroom learning with real-world professional contexts, directly supporting Assignment 1 on practice organization and project management. By engaging with practicing architects and experiencing office culture, students can critically observe design processes, team structures, and business models. The activity also fosters reflection on the role of the architect within the AEC sector, equipping students with knowledge and insights that feed into seminars, group debates, and coursework preparation.
