Adaptive Horizons frames computation as an evolving design paradigm for engaging uncertainty, complexity, and transformation. It addresses the role of computational design in responding to contemporary global conditions, including climate adaptation, rapid urbanisation, and emerging AI-driven ecosystems.

The theme explores how adaptive, data-informed, and generative systems enable new forms of resilience and responsiveness in design thinking and practice. It foregrounds methodologies capable of operating across changing contexts and multiple scales, while reconsidering the relationship among technology, design agency, and future-oriented practice.

Adaptive Horizons thus situates computational design within a broader discourse on how design can meaningfully engage transformation in the built environment and beyond.
