Performativity of Space: Research on the Interactive Relationship between the Space of Theatre and Society in Shanghai

At present, the aesthetic evolution of space of society is closely related to the evolution of theatre. Based on the literature review, the term Spacial Performance can summarize the aesthetic evolution within the theatre, the spatial theatricalization outside the theatre and the interaction between the two spaces, which can be divided into three perspectives: space in performance, performance of space and performativity of space. Therefore, if the theatricalization of space and the spectacle of architectural design are influenced by the performing arts scene? And how does it work? By studying the internal structure of postdramatic theatre and the external space of theatricalization and the relationship between the two, especially in Shanghai, the thesis writing proves that the archetypal attraction of theatre is the essence of the problem behind the trend of space theatricalization and spectacle. And the analysis of the spatial structure of the scene of performing arts can provide ideas for improving the architectural design.
