Diabetes has a high fatality rate. However, prior researchers have indicated that the monitoring blood glucose can significantly reduce diabetes-related mortality by delaying diabetes-related complications. Nowadays, the enzymatic glucose sensing strips have occupied the main glucose sensors market. Because of the enzymes have thermal unstable and chemical instability, the enzymatic glucose sensors are inconvenient to transport and store. Therefore, the non-enzymatic glucose detection become a potential researchable direction. Within this non-enzymatic glucose detection area, metal oxide possesses more merits than other kinds of materials, such as convenience and stability. In this research, the iridium oxide was considered as the sensing materials. The iridium mixed gold-based glucose sensors showed high performance in alkaline. And this sensor also can be applied on the pH monitoring.
