Online teaching has become the primary choice for International Chinese Language Education (ICLE) during the pandemic. The key to making distance learning engaging, relatable, and memorable is to keep it real, so real-life scenarios are an excellent vehicle. The project aims to explore the effectiveness of teaching by live-streaming in real-life scenarios, which means using portable devices to live stream in real social scenarios, such as a market or a restaurant. The effectiveness of these two teaching methods was explored by an experiment, and students' perceptions toward them was investigated by a survey.
