The International Forum on Industrial Civilization (IFIC), is co-hosted by the Industrial Culture Development Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Shanghai Economic and Information Commission, and the People's Government of Pudong New Area.

Under the theme "Industrial Civilization · The Power of China", the forum has three thematic forums, and related activities, to promote global industrial civilization exchanges, consolidate consensus in industrial development, and deepen practical cooperation.

The talk "Learning from the Past to Foresee the Future: Industrial Character as a Catalyst for Industry Advancement and Urban Development" discusses novel directions in urban design and development that offer pathways to a sustainable future.
