Energy efficiency improvements must be balanced with occupants' thermal comfort needs to ensure a high-quality indoor environment. This is particularly challenging due to the dynamic nature of indoor environments and occupants' diverse preferences and behaviours. This project aims to develop a novel approach to effectively predict indoor thermal comfort by integrating contemporary digital twin and smart building technologies, which could surpass conventional methods (e.g. accuracy and real-time information visualisation) that are generally based on simplified assumptions. Collaboration on this work is expected between the two Virtual Engineering Centres (VEC) and XJTLU and the University of Liverpool (UoL).
