乡村的文化与城市的文化是平行的，中国传统的乡村是我们传统文化的种子，但在同时，乡村在过去的城市化浪潮下也面临着巨大的挑战。在乡村振兴的宏观背景下，国家级及省级传统村落的推荐及列入是乡村文化遗产保护中重要的步骤，然而，我们也需要更多的动力与方法对村落的现状研究与保护，并让历史的村庄能更加可持续的发展。对于建筑历史研究者来说，最常开始的方式就是记录这里的乡土建筑遗产，这是进一步研究与挖掘乡村资源与策划进一步发展的起点。
While the rural and urban culture are developing in parallel, historical villages are the roots of Chinese traditional culture. However, villages are confronted with severe challenges under past urbanization. To list the villages under conservation is significant work, but more motivation and methods are needed to develop the historical villages sustainably. For architectural historians, the most common way is to document the local architectural heritage, which is also the starting point of researching the rural resources and proposing the continuing development.
